This morning, APRAM carried out charming and promotional actions on the south quay, the north quay and the Funchal quay, where they are disembarking and boarding the passengers of the anchored ships. Until 4 pm, there is a movement of passengers and crew from the four moored ships, "AIDAstella", "Queen Victoria", "Aurora" and "Oceana Majesty", and from the ships at anchor "Mein Schiff 3", "Marella Explorer" ”Zenith”, “Columbus”, “Saga Saphire” and “Marco Polo” totaling 21431 people, including passengers and crew. With the arrival of the remaining three ships carrying over 4238 passengers and crew, we will have a total of 25,669 passengers and crew. It is recalled that in 1968 the presence of 14 ships was announced, but bad weather led to a change of route, so that in 2019 it surpasses what was the best number so far, 12 in 2007 and 2013. The thirteenth ship is due to “AIDAcara” anticipating its arrival from 4:30 am on January 1 to 8 pm today. Moored on the north and south wharfs are, in the first phase, the ships “Ocean Majesty” and “Aurora” that arrived yesterday at the Port of Funchal, plus the “AIDAstella” and “Queen Victoria”. At anchor are the ships 'Mein Schiff 3', 'Zenith', 'Saga Sapphire', 'Columbus', 'Marco Polo' and 'Marella Explorer'. The “Balmoral” arrives around 4 pm and founds, as are the “AIDAcara” and “Amera” which are in Funchal at 8 pm and 9:30 pm, respectively. From 5:30 pm, the ships “AIDAstella”, “Queen Victoria”, “Aurora” and “Ocean Majesty” leave the pier and enter “Marella Explorer”, “Balmoral” and “Mein Schiff 3”. On the night of January 1st, between 12:30 am and 2:00 am, there are 5 ships leaving, "Marco Polo", "Columbus", "Queen Victoria", "Aurora" and "Zenith". At 5:30 am, departs the “AIDAstella” and at 8:00 am, the “Saga Sapphire”. Amera will dock on January 1st at 2:15 pm and AIDAcara will arrive shortly thereafter at 2:30 pm as soon as the Mein Schiff 3 and Marella Explorer leave. The "Balmoral" leaves at 18h00, January 1st, and the "Amera" at 20h00. The end of 2019 reflects what was an excellent year for the Port of Funchal, according to APRAM.
